Mia is pursuing her Master's in Global Security from Arizona State University, where she previously graduated in 2019 with a BA in Cultural Geography. Her areas of academic interest are human migration and border conflict, as well as cybersecurity and cyber policy.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Mia interned at the U.S. embassy in Algeria where she worked with the U.S. Consulate and practiced the Arabic language.
After graduating with her Bachelor's, Mia worked as a Designated School Official (DSO) at ASU's International Students and Scholars Center where she developed a passion for non-immigrant visa policy before moving to Arlington, Virginia to begin a Pathways Internship with the U.S. Department of State in the Summer of 2021.
