Dr. Erkaiym Mambetalieva is a distinguished leader in the field of anti-corruption, currently serving as the Founder and CEO of the Central Asian Research Institute on Corruption and Money Laundering. Her commitment to combating corruption is evident in her illustrious career and the impactful initiatives she has spearheaded.

After successfully completing the Next Generation Leadership Program, Dr. Mambetalieva took a bold step by establishing this Institute. This independent Institute focuses on advancing anti-corruption education, enhancing anti-corruption expertise in Kyrgyzstan, cultivating a negative perception of corruption in society, and imparting the necessary skills for the development and implementation of anti-corruption measures.

In recognition of her leadership capabilities and dedication to anti-corruption efforts, Dr. Erkaiym Mambetalieva was appointed as the director of the Institute for Research on Public Administration Development at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2022-2023.

Dr. Mambetalieva has been a trailblazer in anti-corruption education, and her commitment was further underscored when she was one of the four individuals awarded the 2019 McCain Institute Catalyst Grant. This prestigious grant was instrumental in supporting her anti-corruption training initiatives conducted in leading universities across the country. Using the grant, she developed an Anti-Corruption Policy course with a special emphasis on character-driven leadership. This course was instrumental in training over 90 professors from twelve universities in various regions of Kyrgyzstan.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Mambetalieva held key positions, such as the head of the Department of Public Administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic from 2011 to 2012.

In the years 2006 to 2010, Dr. Mambetalieva held a crucial role as the head of the Northern Regional Representation of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of the Kyrgyz Republic. Before that, she led the Anticorruption Center under the Bishkek Mayor’s Office in 2005, showcasing her consistent dedication to the cause of combating corruption at various levels of government.

Her expertise has been sought after by prestigious international organizations, and she has served as a national expert in World Bank, OSCE, and UN projects since 2010.

Central Asian Research Institute on Corruption and Money Laundering, under Dr. Erkaiym Mambetalieva's leadership, is a member of the UNCAC Coalition, further highlighting the Institute's commitment to international standards and cooperation in the fight against corruption.

Education

She received her Ph.D. from the High Attestation Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic in  2004. She holds a bachelor's degree in historical sciences and a master's degree in public administration.
