Spring 2025

I am a senior from Mesa, Arizona studying Social Work and Justice Studies with a minor in Global Studies. I am also earning a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership through my participation in ASU’s Public Service Academy. During my free time, I enjoy learning about other cultures through travel. I specifically enjoy doing research and learning more about the indigenous community my mother has ties to, known as Purépecha or Tarascan. Since my freshman year, I have been involved with the Next Generation Service Corps as a member of the mission team of the Cultural and Global Equality Team. I currently serve as a mentor for the newest cohort of students in the program. I am also an active member of Tau Psi Omega Fraternity Inc. One of my favorite memories from my time at ASU was being involved with my Greek organization's annual philanthropy event, Sin Fronteras. I contributed to outreach efforts to raise funds for hygiene products and toys, which we delivered to children living in an orphanage in Hermosillo, Mexico. I aspire to make a positive impact in the future by pursuing a career where I can drive meaningful change, whether locally or globally. Graduating from college is a significant milestone for both my family and me, and I am determined to build on this achievement. I aim to step into spaces where individuals from my background are not commonly represented, creating opportunities for myself and inspiring others to do the same.
