Kai Macauley
Summer 2026
Kai Macauley is from Lorton, Virginia, and is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at the College of William and Mary. Kai's academic interests are in international law, development, and affairs. He has worked extensively on issues related to FEMA and disaster response policy and hopes to eventually work on projects that help international communities build more resilient infrastructure and reduce damage from natural disasters.
Another academic interest of his is dehumanizing rhetoric in political discourse, which Kai researches as a member of the STAIR Lab at William & Mary; his current project tracks which groups are dehumanized the most in media across English-speaking countries worldwide.
Outside of his academic interests, he enjoys going to the gym, reading, hiking, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
