Michael Hernandez
Fall 2026
Michael Hernandez is from Little Rock, Arkansas, with a background in public service, social work, and consular work. His professional experience has largely focused on working directly with the public and helping individuals navigate government and community services. Michael earned his Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is currently completing a Master of Arts in International Affairs and Leadership at Arizona State University.
For four years, Michael worked at the Consulate of Mexico in Little Rock, where he assisted members of the community with passports, consular identification, visas, and other essential services. That experience strengthened his interest in public service and gave him firsthand experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. It also inspired him to explore international affairs more deeply, particularly diplomacy, foreign policy, and the ways governments engage with and support their citizens across borders.
Outside of his professional and academic work, Michael enjoys soccer, history, traveling, and learning about different cultures. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue building a career in public service and pursue opportunities in government, diplomacy, and international affairs.
