Sydney Selde

Sydney is a German-American senior majoring in Global Studies and Political Science with a certificate in Religion and Conflict. Her academic interests include U.S. foreign policy, refugee and migration issues, and women in conflict zones, with a regional focus on the MENA and Central Asian region. A former Capitol Scholar and current Policy Design Studio participant, Sydney is a founding member of ASU's Online Student Government. She has worked with the United Nations on a research project surrounding gender-based violence in Tanzania, and has volunteered with the Human Rights Campaign and various political campaigns as a community organizer since 2018. Prior to joining ASU, she was based in London, UK, where Sydney worked as an international flight attendant manager at British Airways. She currently resides in Miami, FL, and will be relocating to Washington D.C. in early 2022. In her free time, Sydney enjoys traveling and learning Arabic.
